So I had a hard time with this battle. These are 2 of my favorite Marvel characters. Gambit is my favorite Comic Book character of all time. Captain America is one of the most iconic characters in the Marvel Universe, Gambit is pretty popular, but not quite Captain America status. So I never thought they would really work together that much in the comics and never in a million years would I have guessed they would be fighting in the Avengers vs X-Men war.
So I am going to announce the winner, so if you haven’t read it then know there will be this “spoiler” and I use the quotes because as much as I love this character, there was no way Gambit was beat Captain America. Yes, Gambit lost. Shocker, right? I mean a thief vs a Super Soldier, who has fought in war after war. I’m not saying Gambit didn’t put up a good fight, he did surprisingly, but Cap just didn’t focus on the fight until the end. It was nothing fancy, Gambit was clever and caught Caps shield out of the air, then charged it and threw it back, and he dodged a lot of Caps attacks. Cap was on the phone the entire call so he wasn’t really focusing on it. So Gambit started to get over confident, and finally had his final move. When Cap grabbed him, all Gambit could do was charge Caps suit which was a great idea, it did not stop Cap though. He basically walked right up to Gambit and punched him out. That’s how my hero beat up my other hero.
I know the concept is cool with these AVX comics, but the battles are not so one sided. So far, there was only 1 X-Men winner, even Magneto fell at Starks hand, which I don’t believe for a micro-second. These AVX comics don’t offer anything to the Avengers vs X-Men story. The AVX comics actually alter the main story line to fit theirs. They even say on the first page that this is nothing more than a novelty fight. So you have to ask yourself if this fight worth your money? Or the emotional stress for that matter?
End Transmission…
