TFM First Impression: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

A couple of us at Team Fighting Mongoose picked up a copy of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Since we have not played through the entire game I am here to give you some first impressions.

I was a big fan of the console version of Ghost Recon on the original XBOX. So my sights were set pretty high. GRFS has not disappointed so far, kinda.

First off, some of the things I like so far. The focus on playing as a squad I really like. No lone wolf like most shooters. Guerilla mode is a great new challenge, though it is similar to Horde/Firefight modes in other games. My favorite thing is by far the Gunsmith. This adds thousands of combinations to get the perfect arsenal for whatever pulls your trigger. The campaign missions are also very involved.
“F**k, mission 1 was intense” is what SuperLute58 texted me after he started playing.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is not without it’s faults though. Many other reviews complain about the graphics but that didn’t bother me enough to notice. The story line could definitely use some work. It often seems drawn out, unnecessary, and horribly written. My biggest issue is the servers. While SuperLute58 were trying some co-op campaign and Guerilla mode we were each dropped twice. Hopefully Ubisoft can get their stuff together and have the servers working soon. Co-op is one of the biggest drawing factors for me at least.

With the few issues aside, I am very excited to play this game. If you are online and playing look for either SuperLute58 or me (Kano996), we will join ya for a game.

Remember, double tap.

You know this means my article next week may involve a certain Mr. Payne and his third adventure. To combat your first impressions review.
