Oh yeah, It’s all about the Avengers right now. The movie drops soon and the X-Men seem to be on the back burner while everyone eagerly anticipates the Avengers hitting the big screen. It’s so big that the Facebook world has a game out for it!
I know, I’m reviewing a Facebook game. But when studies are done about gaming now, Facebook games are included. As such, it’s hard to ignore them. Just ask all the drunk college kids that spend hundreds of dollars on their Farmville accounts.
So I took the jump and started playing the Marvel game on Facebook. The battle sequences are formulaic as it’s not actual game, more of a text style game where you click the action and the guy does it. You do have to repeat the same missions over and over again, but you have to do that in RPGs as it is.
What does it truly come down to then? What makes this Facebook game any better or different? That’s quite simple, it’s set in the Marvel-verse. It has many good guys to choose from, both Avengers and X-Men. Even the Fantastic 4 are in it. So it makes for a game that appeals to the comic book world.
So check it out, it’s worth the 15 minutes at first to go through all the learning pieces. I wouldn’t drop loads of money on it like I have on my Dragons Age game, but at the end of it, it’s a fun game to play. It kills time in between Facebook stalks or 20 minutes before bed that turns into an hour… Personal experience.
So at the end of it all, I give it 7 Avengers out of 10. It’s a good game to play, the stories aren’t special but keep the action moving and get many different characters involved. But lastly, the reason it’s not any higher is that it’s a Marvel-verse game without Deadpool. Come on people, he’s the best quasi-good/bad guy out there!
Keep playing and keep it clean, unless you’re up against APDestructor1. This it’s win at all costs.
